Reflexology to Induce Labour
Reflexology to induce labour
Many women who have reflexology during pregnancy often opt to have their reflexologist with them during labour, or in some cases to help them to induce labour.
There are several ways in which reflexology during labour can help:
- Regulating contractions
- Induction, instead of using chemicals.
- Pain and relaxation
- Helping to urinate
- Helping bowel movements
- Backache
- Hyperventilation and correct breathing
- Regulating body temperature
- To release retained placenta
- As a touch therapy itself, adding a touch of relaxation to a stressful time
- Many women who have reflexology during labour also seem to recover quicker afterwards as the body rebalances more easily.
During labour, reflexology is of great help to improve and stimulate several conditions that occur during the process. Reflexology helps in all the physiological process, with the overall aim that the body will be able to use its natural resources, therefore trying to avoid the use of chemical substances and medication.
